Curriculum

MediaAC answers the needs of the evolving fields related to the future and heritage of Media Arts Cultures through internationally advanced teaching in the Media Arts with an innovative combination of pedagogical foci, trans-disciplinary approaches, and critical thinking in connection to the needs of academic and non-academic stakeholders.

Faculty

Diverse faculty members from across 5 universities also include guest lecturers from Associated Partners. Brain Trust with significant student contact: Oliver Grau, Morten Søndergaard, Ryszard Kluszczyński, Harald Kraemer, Wolfgang Muench and additional international colleagues from North & South America, Asia and across Europe.

Consortium

Collaborating towards a common goal, MediaAC Consortium is built upon long-standing collegial ties within academia and the cultural sector. Danube University Krems, Aalborg University, University of Lodz, City University Hong Kong (<2019), Lasalle College of the Arts (>2019), numerous Associated Partners and the MediaAC Network at large.

Mobility

MediaAC has high mobility. Students spend semesters at three different universities and one Associated Partner.  In the spirit of global cultural citizenship, MediaAC’s strategy within the cultural environment enables international emerging professionals to engage globally through instances of mutual learning and sharing.

 

Joint Diploma

Upon successful completion of the requirements of the course and a master’s thesis, graduates are awarded a joint masters degree by two or three of the Partner universities. The degree is a 120 ECTS Master of Arts in Media Arts Cultures and fulfils the requirements to enrol in European or international PhD and residency programs.

 

Learning Outcomes

MediaAC validates learning outcomes in an integrated manner to contribute both to the recognition of the skills and competences of the students, but also consistent building up the quality of the course. Knowledge specific to each course and the methods of assessment in the program are detailed in the curriculum. 

 

Student Success

Exhibition curation, conference organization, artistic production, unique scholarship and ground-breaking new ideas are developed during the students studies, after graduation they continue to develop the field of the new media cultural and creative sector.
