The concert will be an opportunity to see the "Kujon" Ensemble right after returning from Chile, where they took part in the 17th edition of the "Festival Internacional de Cultura y Danza" alongside groups from Mexico, Latvia, Costa Rica, Argentina and the host country of the festival.
The University of Lodz Choir has prepared a varied festive programme for this evening, enriched with non-holiday "surprises". The ensemble has been active for 15 years and the number of its members is still growing. The singers include students, graduates, employees and supporters of the university. The choir is led by conductors Aleksandra Ryłko-Sutowicz and Andrzej Ryłko.
In turn, the Slavic Nations Music Band "Balalaikas" will perform several dances and songs of Europe, one pastorale and "Jingle Bells". Apparently, this one of the greatest hits associated with Christmas was created for a completely different occasion. The piece written in 1850 by the American composer James Pierpont has been adapted into numerous musical versions to this day. And what will "Bałałajki" surprise us with? We will find out on 23 January!
Admission to the concert is free.
