Uroczyste odnowienia doktoratów UŁ po 50 latach

The doctorates renewal ceremony for those who received their PhD degrees fifty years ago at our university will be held on 12, 13 and 17 June at the Biedermann’s Palace. The ceremony is a great opportunity to meet colleagues and students as well as to recall memories. Each of the degree holders will receive a commemorative diploma signed by the Rector of the University of Lodz, thesis supervisor and a dean of the home faculty.

On 12 June at midday we will officially renew the doctorates of:

  • Prof. Dr hab. Joanna Radziejewska-Lebrecht – application from the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection
  • Prof. Dr hab. Zofia Szweda-Lewandowska – application from the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection
  • Dr Anna Maria Wasiak – application from the Faculty of Chemistry. 

On 13 June the following individuals will have their doctorates renewed:

at 11:00 a.m.

  • Dr hab. Krystyna Iwińska-Knop – application from the Faculty of Management 
  • Prof. Dr hab. Jan Jeżak – application from the Faculty of Management

at 1:00 p.m.

  • Dr Jan Rek – application from the Faculty of Philology 
  • Prof. Halina Gajdamowicz – application from the Faculty of Educational Sciences

On 17 June we will officially renew the doctorates of those associated with the Faculty of Economics and Sociology: 

at 11:30 a.m.

and at 12.30 p.m.

  • Prof. Dr hab. Anna Buchner-Jeziorska 
  • Dr hab. Kazimierz Kowalewicz 
  • Dr hab. Andrzej Piotrowski

  • Prof. Dr hab. Danuta Walczak-Duraj  
  • Prof. Dr hab. Marek Ziółkowski 

The custom of the ceremonial renewal of doctorates was initiated by the Senate of the University of Lodz in 2000. To date, 119 outstanding representatives of the University of Lodz with a special contribution to Polish science or culture have been honoured this way.
