Doctoral students from the University of Lodz Doctoral School of Humanities, mgr Patrycja Chuszcz and Dr Joanna Kulawiak-Cyrankowska, were recognized by the committee of the in the Competition for the Research Award of the Rector of the University of Lodz for their achievements in the field of publishing activities and internationalisation of education, as well as scientific and research work.
The project, headed by mgr Patrycja Chuszcz, from the Faculty of Philology at the University of Lodz, was awarded funding of nearly PLN 200,000. The project, "Dyskurs praw zwierząt tzw. hodowlanych w filmie dokumentalnym. Badania widowni" [Discourse of the so-called farm animal rights in documentary films. Audience research], selected as part of the PRELUDIUM 23 competition, will be implemented at the University of Lodz.
The fact that it has actually happened is a great moment – a long-awaited one, but also a bit unbelievable […]. Of course, the funding is crucial, but this grant also has a symbolic meaning for me. It's proof that qualitative research and the (film) animal studies movement are gaining attention in our country.
– underlines mgr Patrycja Chuszcz in a post informing about the planned research.
